As of 2015, 8.3 billion tons of plastic have been produced since the 1950s. 60% or the equivalent in weight of more than 470,000 Eiffel Towers, has already ended up in landfills, oceans and in the environment. If we keep the current “business as usual” scenario, it is estimated that there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish by 2050!
